PLAY THERAPY STUDIO

A curated, safe space for children to explore their inner selves.

At Nurtured Play Therapy we use play to support children with a variety of needs, including social, emotional, behavioural or neurological. Children communicate through the natural language of play, and this can be useful as a vehicle to overcome trauma, emotional hardship, difficult behaviour and many other challenges faced during childhood. Play therapy has a strong evidence base as one of the most effective non-talk therapies available to children aged 3-12.

Enter into children’s play, and you will find the place where their minds, hearts and souls meet
— Virginia Axline

I am a mother of three, teacher and Play Therapist who has completed both a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (UniSA) and graduate certificate in Child Centred Play Therapy. My passion is grounded in supporting children and their families to achieve a sense of holistic wellbeing during childhood and beyond. I believe in the strong relationship between body and mind.

I have almost a two decades of experience working in Early Childhood Education. Through this work, I have observed children overcome and resolve varying challenges, often with the nurturance and support of a play therapist. This intervention often led to notable improvements in general wellbeing, both in educational settings as well as in their personal lives.

I am committed to supporting children and families to facilitate continual growth through developing meaningful, trusting therapeutic relationships within a safe environment. The combination of therapeutic relationship and play environment allows children to explore and unpack their challenges and emotions in a developmentally appropriate way.

I have created a warm and safe space for children to nurture and be nurtured. A space where emotions and challenges are allowed AND explored.
